ILOILO CITY – The underground electrical wiring system in this city has officially connected its first customer.
Intensity Fitness Gym in the Central Business District became the first customer to connect to the Underground Distribution System of MORE Electric and Power Corp. .
“The successful connection is just the beginning of continuing connections and energization of consumers in the area,” said MORE Power Chief Executive Officer and President Roel Z. Castro. “Investing in underground infrastructure is a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability,” added Castro.
Underground wiring is part of MORE Power’s P96-million project that transfers overhead electrical lines in a one-kilometer stretch of the downtown area or the central business district underground. The underground wiring system covers Calle Real from the corner of Arroyo St. to Aldeguer St. as well as Guanco, Mapa, Ortiz, Rizal, and Zamora Sts. The underground wiring also covers the area in the vicinity of Plaza Libertad.
