A team in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul state on Thursday morning rescued a horse that had been stranded on a rooftop by the massive floods, providing a dose of hope to a beleaguered region. The horse, dubbed Caramelo by social media users because of its tawny fur, was first spotted by a television news helicopter the day before.
Michelle Mann Organizers of the Inaugural Coffee County Law Enforcement and First Responder Dinner hosted recently by the 12th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office and First Methodist Church on Main Street in Enterprise declared the recognition banquet a success.
“The idea was to provide an opportunity for the community to show appreciation to these individuals that make sacrifices every day in their personal and professional lives to serve our community as officers and first responders,” Tarbox said. The district attorney’s office and First Methodist Church served as co-hosts of the dinner, with church members volunteering to work the dinner and helping to support the event financially.
