The Fresno County Department of Public Health confirmed Saturday a Grand Princess Cruise passenger who returned home on March 6 tested positive for COVID-19.

A Grand Princess Cruise passenger has become the first person in Fresno County to test positive for the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, health officials announced Saturday.

The individual, who was not identified, has not been hospitalized but instead is home and “self-monitoring.” The Grand Princess sailed to Mexico last month. One of the passengers, a 75-year-old man from Placer County, died of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
