Morning commuters have a soggy drive ahead of them as rain is expected to continue for most of the day along the Wasatch Front.
KUTV 2News Chief Meteorologist Lindsay Storrs said the wet weather is creating some hydroplaning conditions on northern Utah highways, and drivers are also having to navigate through road spray .
Western and southwestern Utah was also being hit with some showers during the morning hours. Utah County was off to a drier start, though rain was expected later on in the day. The Wasatch Front was seeing a handful of crashes in the 6 a.m. hour as the morning commute was ramping up, causing backups on I-15 in Weber County,
"This will bring some slushy or snow covered roads, primarily at elevations higher than 6,500 feet during the morning and 7,500 during the afternoon and evening," according to the National Weather Service.
