The storm will make landfall Wednesday afternoon on the coast of south Louisiana, then move roughly along the Mississippi River towards Memphis.
Rainfall amounts of two to four inches are likely across most of the area - perhaps a bit less in the far eastern counties, while the western counties run up totals closer to the top of the range. The rain will come in waves; the time between these waves and the relatively dry conditions ahead of Francine should limit the flood threat.
