MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Big changes are coming to Alabama, and soon! Cold air has returned with a vengeance — and you’ll feel the chill today. Afternoon temperatures will struggle into the lower 40s, but a cold north wind will make it feel even colder.
By Friday morning, a hard freeze will settle across central and south Alabama with lows in the mid-20s or lower, making it the coldest morning of the week. That bitter cold won’t be a quick visitor — it’s sticking around through the weekend and into next week, keeping temperatures well below normal.The front has moved out and things have already cleared up. However, this is when the cold air really takes hold. Gusty northwest winds will develop behind the front, making it feel even colder than the actual temperature — factor in the wind chill for morning outdoor activities and your commute.Friday: The Coldest Morning of the Week By Friday morning, we will see the coldest temperatures of the week. A hard freeze is expected across central and south Alabama, with lows dropping into the mid-20s or lower.
