Post-Tropical Cyclone Francine will continue to influence our weather through the weekend.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Francine has weakened into a post-tropical cyclone and continues to churn around the Mid-South region of the country. After multiple waves of rain and rumbles Thursday… We will continue to track more showers and storms Friday and into the weekend.
On and off clusters of storms will occasionally form and push across the state today. It won’t rain all day, but when it does rain we could see localized downpours! The forecast calls for additional thunderstorm activity, but not every batch of rain will pack a punch. The rain coverage will remain elevated this weekend as the remnants of Francine will continue to spin to our northwest. That will cause widely scattered showers and storms this weekend with highs staying in the 80s and overnight lows in the 60s and 70s. While it will not rain all the time, all at once, this weekend... keep in mind rain will be around and could impact weekend plans.
The weather pattern will shift next week! It is looking drier with the return of some sunshine all thanks to what’s left of Francine finally exiting and high pressure moving back into the region... highs stay seasonably in the mid/upper 80s most days while overnight lows dip down into the 60s.
