While highs are still in the seasonable 90s, it might not feel as muggy thanks to less moisture in the atmosphere
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The weekend is here! Along with it, we can also greet a subtle change in the Alabama weather pattern. A very weak front will push into west and central Alabama over the weekend; this will lead to a modest drop in both heat and humidity. It will be most noticeable north and west of Montgomery and mainly late Saturday night into Sunday morning. The afternoons will still be hot, even with the drop in humidity.
In the tropics, a cluster of storms in the southern Atlantic Ocean could slowly develop as it moves into the eastern Caribbean Sea late this weekend into next week. Too soon to say where it goes, how strong it gets or even if local impacts are possible, so we will be watching and bringing updates as needed!
Since there isn’t a lot of moisture to play with locally now into this weekend, we do not anticipated there being tons of showers and storms with this next front rolling through. Sure, an isolated pop of rain on radar is possible, but there will not be enough to reach every town in our area... not even close!
High pressure settles over the Deep South after the front passes, which keeps us in a holding pattern. Cruise control weather sticks around through at least the end of the weekend, but there are signs of a shift around the middle of next workweek. These change could involve a higher chance of rain and thunderstorms and perhaps less heat!Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission awards 2 more licensesFirst Alert: Summer’s Dog Days keep barkingFirst Alert: The heat rolls on...
