MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Bright, warm sunshine will headline the forecast through the weekend, and Thursday will be no exception. Afternoon temperatures will soar into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees under a clear November sky.
Out the door this morning, conditions are cool and crisp, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s under partly to mostly clear skies and a light breeze. Patchy dense fog is possible in some areas, so use caution when traveling to or from work and school. By this afternoon, expect plenty of sunshine. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s, with some spots nearing 80 degrees, accompanied by a light breeze. Clouds will increase Friday afternoon, and we’re giving you a First Alert for scattered rain and storms late Friday into early Saturday. Most of the rain will likely fall across north Alabama, but a few pockets could drift into the southern half of the state. The exact timing and intensity of this system remain uncertain and may change. Another front will move quickly through the state late Saturday into Sunday, bringing another low-end chance for showers and storms during the middle part of the weekend. Once both fronts pass, much colder air will settle in. We’re giving another First Alert for a significant drop in temperatures next week.
