Higher rain chance may impact your Easter Sunday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - No fooling around on this first day of April. Alabama will be feeling more like early summer than early spring! Warmer and muggier than norm al weather will continue through Easter weekend with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s; those numbers are more typical for late May than early April.

A few isolated storms will be in the mix today, Friday and Saturday - the coverage of rain all three of those days will be 30% or less. Thursday looks to be our driest and warmest day, with minimal activity on radar and plenty of towns heading for the mid 80s. A more substantial rain chance arrives on Easter Sunday... it won’t rain all day, but Easter plans will need an indoor backup option.Watch the latest live and local weather data below, streaming on WSFA Weather Now! Please note, this stream does not include live severe weather coverage, only data on the latest weather conditions.Saturday will again feature a scattered chance for showers along with temperatures in the 80s. The best rain chance is late in the day and over our western Alabama counties. A cold front moves across the state on Sunday... yes, Easter Sunday. This will bring our best rain chance of the week; we do not expect any severe weather, but some rain and rumbles are likely. Clouds hang tight when it is not actively raining on Easter, so we expect highs only climb into the 70s. A drop in humidity will help usher in some cooler conditions, but it’s not a cold blast: highs are more seasonably in the 70s with less muggy air for much of next workweek.
