MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Showers will continue through Wednesday morning across central and south Alabama before conditions dry out. A brief cooldown follows on Thursday, but don’t worry — it won’t last long.
A significant warm-up begins Friday and continues through the weekend, bringing pleasant conditions and mild temperatures. By early next week, highs will climb to near or above normal.Showers will linger through Wednesday morning, with the heaviest rain ending by mid-morning across central Alabama. Light rain will move into the southeastern corner of the state before clearing out. Drier air will arrive during the afternoon, and temperatures will gradually fall through the evening as northwesterly winds increase.This cold snap will not be as harsh or long-lasting as the previous one. Overnight lows will dip into the low to mid-30s under partly cloudy skies. Northwesterly winds will gust around 20 mph, producing wind chill values in the 20s and 30s early Thursday morning. Thursday will be sunny but chilly, with highs only in the mid-40s to low 50s. Sunshine returns, with highs climbing into the upper 50s to mid-60s. This sets the stage for an even warmer weekend.Saturday and Sunday look outstanding. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-60s to upper 60s. It will be mild and pleasant — great weather to get outside and enjoy after the recent cold stretch. Overnight lows will remain in the 40s both nights.The warming trend continues into early next week, with highs approaching or reaching the low 70s.
