KOTA KINABALU: Firemen rescued a two-year-old girl trapped inside a locked car in Sandakan by prying open the vehicle’s door, on Tuesday (March 21).
The district Fire and Rescue Department earlier received the report at 11.48am on the incident that took place at Jalan Sepilok, Batu 14 there.
"The team managed to force open a door of the vehicle using special tools and safely extract the child. "She was handed over to family members and the operation ended at 12.37pm," the Department spokesman added. In a separate case in Tenom district, firemen responded to a call alerting a fallen tree incident that damaged a house.
The report came at 10.18am informing that the tree destroyed 80% of the kitchen’s roof in Kampung Barung there."No injuries were recorded and the operation ended at 11.35am," added the spokesman.
