Penn State Team Physician/Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Scott Lynch works on guard Chasz Wright on Oct. 24, 2015. The since-fired football doctor is now fighting in Dauphin County Court. The contract between Penn State Athletics and Penn State Health to provide medical services to student athletes didn’t stipulate that the football team doctor, or any other medical staffer, live in State College.Lynch’s attorney, Steven F.

Defense attorney Jan Budman saw it a different way, describing the trek as a potentially intrepid three-hour ordeal in the event of bad weather – something the region’s known for in winter. Marino asked Renee Messina, assistant athletic director for training services at Penn State, if there were ever any complaints from athletes about this; she said none were documented.
