Something else to keep in mind in the kitchen, Thomas says, is that if you’re cooking a turkey, make sure you are doing it correctly. “Again, you want to make sure if we’re gonna be frying a turkey that it is completely thawed. We want to set it down in the grease slowly and also make sure you haven’t overfilled the grease in the container,” said Captain Waters. Captain Waters says about 30% of all their yearly calls are fire related.
