A Lewistown fire police officer was struck in the line of duty on August 21. Junction Fire Company Police Chief Scott Beers has released a statement following t
he incident.
After units were clearing from the scene around 10:52 p.m., the fire company says that fire police were blocking the roadway to allow "apparatus" to exit the scene. PennDOT, with assistance from fire police, momentarily shutdown Route 522 before it was reopened the following morning around 12:39 a.m.
