Harris County fire marshal shuts down 'unpermitted' private school
River Oaks Academy on Hollister Drive was shut down by the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office on Tuesday, July 19.Fire Marshals ordered students and staff to leave a private school building in northwest Harris County on Tuesday after the Harris County Fire Marshal's determined the middle school and high school campus had numerous life and safety hazards.
Fifteen students were inside the school when fire inspectors found the violations Tuesday, according to the release. School officials were ordered to contact the students' guardians to pick them up and employees were told to stop working inside the building, according to the fire marshal's office.
