The fire broke out at around 10:15 pm. Friday on the second floor of 71-11 Austin Street, a four-story building with residential units in a bustling commercial section of Forest Hills, according to fire officials. Police said a woman in her 30s was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on Friday. Her identity has not been publicly released. A one year-old boy was taken to the same hospital in stable condition.

Firefighters got the blaze under control at 11 p.m. Friday. Other people with minor injuries were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.Related stories
