LIVE: Fire extinguished at INEOS chemical plant in Pasadena after possible explosion, officials say
– The all-clear has been given at a chemical plant in Pasadena after a liquid petroleum gas explosion at an INEOS facility Wednesday afternoon.
Crews from the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the possible explosion that occurred at INEOS, which is located in the 3500 block of Pasadena Freeway around noon. During a news conference, authorities said the explosion happened while the liquid petroleum gas was being transported from one tank to another.
Transtar cameras showed large flames and black smoke coming from the plant, which was extinguished around 1:30 p.m.Pasadena Alert: The fire that was occurring at INEOS at 225/Beltway 8 has been extinguished, no protective measures are needed for Pasadena residence.The Harris County Toll Road Authority said the Sam Houston Tollway Ship Channel bridge has been completely shut down.
