SINGAPORE, July 5 — A fire about the size of a football field engulfed a chemical wholesale factory in Tuas early today, taking the Singapore Civil Defence Force about four hours to put out the flames.
A total of 30 emergency vehicles and about 100 personnel were dispatched to restrict the fire from spreading.One firefighter was taken to the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital as he experienced giddiness during the firefighting operation. “At the height of the firefighting operation, SCDF firefighters deployed five water and foam jets and two Unmanned Firefighting Machines,” SCDF said.
