Emergency services were called to Trafalgar Street in the north of the capital

Ambulance crews attended and a male and female were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown but firefighters left the scene at around 3.50pm. The condition of the two casualties is not known, but it's understood they were taken to hospital "as a precaution".
