SAN DIEGO — A fire broke out near Kitchen Creek Road near Lake Morena in San Diego County on Monday morning. Smoke could be seen from miles away.
Airborne and ground crews from Cal Fire are assisting crews from Cleveland National Forest to battle the backcountry fire, given the name #KitchenFire. In an update by Cleveland National Forest on Twitter at 11:42 a.m., the fire had burned 25 acres and burning at a moderate rate. There were 13 engines, 4 crews, 6 aircraft responding. Smoke is visible from the I-8 and surrounding communities.
