At least 39 people are dead after a fire at a migrant center near the Mexico-U.S. border. The fire began late Monday at a center run by the National Migration Institute in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and injured at least 29 people.

the fire began around 10 p.m. local time Monday night in the accommodation area of the facility, which was housing 68 men from Central and South America.

Photos from the scene showed large numbers of ambulances, police vehicles and rescue workers at the scene and covered bodies on the ground. The building sits close to the Rio Grande and the Santa Fe International Bridge.
