John Davi, founder and CEO of Astoria Portfolio Advisors, predicts a period of multi-year strength in the financial sector driven by deregulation and an increase in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and mergers and acquisitions. Davi highlighted that even before the Trump administration, large-cap money center banks like Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley were fundamentally attractive from an earnings perspective.
He believes this new administration will further enhance their performance.Meanwhile, Todd Rosenbluth, head of research at VettaFi, anticipates that small-cap stocks will outperform under a Trump 2.0 presidency. He suggests that this group will be largely shielded from the impacts of reshoring and tariffs. Rosenbluth argues that a focus on the U.S. and strengthening America will benefit small-cap companies due to their lower multinational exposure. He emphasizes that their preferred ETF targets companies with high quality, robust free cash flow generation, but also incorporates a growth filter to select only the most promising small-cap investments
