This sale marked the end of an era for the once-popular Swedish brand, which filed for bankruptcy in 2011. The auction, hosted at the vehicle plant, saw seven cars go under the hammer, including three of the last Saab models produced before the company's collapse and four electrified Saabs rebranded as NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden).
Klaravik, the Swedish auction house conducting the sale, reported intense online bidding throughout the week, culminating in a combined final price of over one million Swedish kronor (approximately £80,000). The most expensive lot was a 2018 NEVS electric car, which sold for 252,000 kronor (almost £20,000). The three final Saab cars fetched winning bids ranging from 142,000 kronor (£11,250) to 177,000 kronor (£14,000), each with low chassis numbers and significant historical value.
Other notable cars included two NEVS electric prototypes and a unique 'Range Extender' hybrid prototype. The event attracted Saab enthusiasts from around the world, with several hundred people attending, including some who traveled from the US and Europe.
