Skylar Celeste Boone Dothan's Winn-Dixie stores are in their final days of service to the Wiregrass as workers prepare to close the doors to prepare for transition to ALDI stores."We can confirm that the Winn-Dixie located at 1151 Ross Clark Circle in Dothan has closed, and the Winn-Dixie located at 1571 Westgate Parkway will close later this month,” said Rachel Higgins public relations account manager for Southeastern Grocers .

Over the month of July the store has been slashing prices, with discounts currently up to 75 percent off items in store. On social media, local shoppers have shared pictures of carts full of groceries purchased at less than half the original total. Some shoppers noted getting items for 25 cents at the closing of the Ross Clark Circle location. “Winn-Dixie has proudly served the Dothan community over the years, and we will work through this process with care.
