THE Philippine Embassy in Brazil has urged Filipinos there to 'exercise extreme caution' amid the ongoing political unrest in their host country.The embassy in Brasilia, in its Facebook page, advised Filipinos on Monday to be vigilant 'to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

'In 2008, there were just over 300 Filipinos residing in Brazil, including Catholic missionaries and migrant workers in the telecommunications, oil and domestic services sectors. But there are currently about 30,000 Filipino-Brazilians in that country.'Filipinos are strongly advised to avoid areas where there are demonstrations,' the embassy said in its advisory.
