Both Group E squads are coming off opening victories against separate opponents to lead the standings with three points each, but the Koreans took the top seed with a superior goal differential of +3 after a dominant 3-nil win over world No. 51 Myanmar. The last time both teams played each other, the Philippines was handed a 2-0 semifinal loss by South Korea in the AFC Women's Asian Cup in 2022.
