NORAD aircraft deployed flares before safely escorting the plane out of the restricted area.
"Today, NORAD F-16 aircraft responded to a civilian aircraft that entered restricted airspace under a Temporary Flight Restriction over Palm Beach, Florida," NORAD wrote on X."The situation was resolved safely.

The flares were used to draw attention from or communicate with the pilot. "Should NORAD aircraft intercept a general aviation aircraft, the pilot should immediately come up on frequency 121.5 or 243.0 and turn around to reverse course until receiving additional instructions on one of those frequencies."In October 2025 that the FAA imposed a year-round, 24/7 restriction within one nautical mile of Mar-a-Lago, whether Trump is in town or not, WPTV reported. The outlet later reported that an FAA letter issued in December 2025 extended certain Palm Beach International Airport operating procedures tied to the Mar-a-Lago restrictions through December 10, 2026. There have been several instances of breaches in the zone over the past year, all of which have been resolved safely. Mark Siviglia, air traffic manager at Palm Beach Air Traffic Control Tower, wrote in a letter new procedures had been introduced to keep operations running safely and efficiently at Palm Beach International Airport under the updated Temporary Flight Restriction around Mar-a-Lago. Arrivals to Runway 28R are limited to approved aircraft using instrument guidance. Air traffic controllers issue specific headings to planes departing from Runways 10L and 10R to steer them clear of the restricted airspace before allowing them to continue on their planned routes. Pilots landing on Runway 10L receive alternative instructions if they need to abort a landing, ensuring they avoid the restricted area.
