A fifth man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Neil Canney, who was allegedly gunned down on his doorstep in Greenock.
Emergency services rushed to Nairn Road in the Inveclyde town around 1.15am on Tuesday, February 28, after Neil was found seriously injured. He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but could not be saved and died a short time later.At a petition hearing two weeks ago Jack Benson, 22, from Port Glasgow in Inverclyde, and Dale Russell, 28, from Wishaw, Lanarkshire, appeared at court charged with Neil's murder. They entered no plea and were remanded in custody.
Top news stories today Martin McCusker, 38, also made no plea at Greenock Sheriff Court to the single charge of murdering Neil Canney. A 27-year-old man was also arrested and charged in connection with the death. He appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on March 10.READ MORE:
