The world football organising body announced on Monday that foreign players stranded in Russia will be allowed to suspend their contracts with local clubs and sign for other teams for the remainder of the season.

"The suspension of a contract will mean that players and coaches will be considered 'out of contract' until 30 June 2022 and will therefore be at liberty to sign a contract with another club without facing consequences of any kind."Spartak Moscow attacker Victor Moses and CSKA Moscow’s Chidera Ejuke are the two Nigerian stars impacted by the conflict and they have now been presented with a way out, on an interim basis, at least.
