A woman was killed and over a dozen people were taken to the hospital after a CTA bus and a wrong-way driver collided on DuSable Lake Shore Drive Sunday morning.
A man was driving south in a Dodge Journey in the northbound lanes near the 4400 block of Lake Shore Drive when he crashed into the CTA bus just before 6 a.m., Chicago police said.A woman who was in the Dodge was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, police said. Another woman who was in the Dodge was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. First responders evaluated 23 people on scene. At least 16 were taken to the hospital. Several refused medical attention.The Sun-Times Media Wire contributed to this report.
