The chef’s new PBS series takes diners on a journey around the world and back to Beverly Hills.
If you ever wondered how chef Curtis Stone gets ideas for his menus at Maude, watch his new food and travel show. The six-episode, which airs on local PBS stations beginning Monday, Oct. 7, follows the Australian-born chef and his culinary team through Italy, Spain, Australia and California’s Central Coast, where they learn everything they can about a wine region and bring it back to Beverly Hills.
"The show came about rather organically," says Stone. "When we started Maude, we’d take the team to a farm to learn about one ingredient. With whole regions, though, we can explore more ingredients, cooking styles and wine. A buddy of mine, a cinematographer, wanted to come along and shoot the action, and when he cut it together and showed me, it was beautiful. Very cinematic. So we’re taking the audience along for research and development."and.
