Overnight storms could be noisy and strong for those that tap into them
The past few weeks have brought rounds of beneficial rain to South Central Texas. Another chance arrives this weekend before a cold front clears us out and cools us down into the start of next week.Another round of storms will be possible overnight Saturday, mainly across the Hill Country and Southern Edwards Plateau A generally low-end severe risk continues with this activity, with hail and gusty winds being the main concerns to monitorA cold front then sweeps through, clearing us out into the afternoon and kicking up gusty north winds by Sunday afternoonAs an area of low pressure and a cold front approach South Central Texas, another round of storms is looking likely overnight Saturday, mainly across portions of the Hill Country and Southern Edwards Plateau.
Storms are expected to fire up out west around/just after midnight, and gradually track east through the pre-dawn hours of Sunday. While not everyone will tap into a storm, one or two could be strong/severe for those that do, with hail and strong winds being the main concerns to monitor. Current trends suggest that these storms could weaken as they approach I-35, but a few lingering showers/a stray storm may still move into the San Antonio area around sunrise Sunday, before the front sweeps through and clears us out for the remainder of the day. Storms in the Hill Co. could be strong/severe, with hail and gusty winds being the main things to monitor Sunshine returns by lunchtime but it will be a windy end to the weekend, with healthy northwest winds gusting upwards of 25-30 mph at times. High temperatures then top off in the upper 60s Sunday afternoon as lower humidity pumps into the region.Looking ahead, windy weather will continue into Monday, along with a drier and cooler weather pattern. Chilly mornings in the 30s and 40s return for the first half of the week followed by nice and comfortable afternoons in the 60s. Rain chances return ahead of and into next weekend, so check back for those details in the days ahead.
