Former east central star NaLyssa Smith will be teamed up with Caitlin Clark on the Indiana Fever through at least 2025.
NaLyssa Smith, pride of the East Central Hornets, is going to be sticking around in Indiana for a while longer. The WNBA ’s Indiana Fever on Monday announced they have exercised the fourth-year option on Smith’s rookie contract to keep her with the franchise through the 2025 season. Drafted second overall in the 2022 draft following four wildly successful years at Baylor , Smith is set to make $80,943 this season and $91,981 in the final year of her deal.
1 overall in this month’s draft, which created a frenzied rush to snag season tickets. The Fever should be worthy of all the hype, too. They're expected to be one of the WNBA’s most improved teams in 2024 with Smith, Clark, 2023 No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston and All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell forming the nucleus of second-year coach Christie Sides’ young roster.
