North Texans can watch fireworks at the Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza at The Star in Frisco once again in 2024. The event is shown in 2021.Cities and towns across North Texas in 2024 are getting into the holiday spirit by hosting tree lightings, parades, festivals, drone shows and more. Here’s your guide to some of December’s top events.
Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. in downtown Fort Worth. See website for parade route. Free for spectators. $15-$30 for reserved street seating.The city known as the Christmas Capital of Texas will flip the switch on its 36th annual holiday lights display at this festival in the historic downtown district. Main Street will be shut down to make room for live performances, bounce houses, an inflatable maze, snow hills for sledding, live reindeer, food vendors, an artisan market and more.
Dec. 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wayne Ferguson Plaza in Old Town Lewisville. Free.The annual parade will feature the theme “My Favorite Christmas Movie,” with floats judged based on how well they capture the spirit of a beloved holiday film.The 69th annual event will feature the theme “A Candy Land,” so expect some whimsical eye candy.Organized by the Rotary Clubs of Plano, this year’s parade will feature the theme “Candy Wonderland.
