Following the Seahawks ’ 41-6 blowout win against the San Francisco 49ers Saturday night, KIRO host Gee Scott recalled an atmosphere at Lumen Field unlike anything he’d felt in years.on KIRO Newsradio. “It was as soon as you came into the stadium, just all of the amazing people that work inside the stadium, they were energetic.
It just felt different.” Gee recapped the moments leading up to one of the best highlights of the game, where the recently acquired kick returner, Rasheed Shaheed, took the opening kick 95 yards for a touchdown as the entire stadium erupted with cheers. “It was a different energy. It was packed in there,” Gee said. “Now understand Lumen Field and the Seahawks; they already put in seismometers throughout, so they can be able to record it as people’s loud voices shake the stadium in the ground. The opening kickoff happened, and everyone all at once erupted. The party started 13 seconds into the game.” KIRO host Ursula Reutin asked why the score was so lopsided against the 49ers this time around, after already playing two close games against them in the regular season. “The score wasn’t lopsided, but the game was, and this is what I was trying to explain to Niner fans, because they kept saying, ‘You guys only won 13 to three in week 18,'” Gee responded. “What they didn’t understand is, yes, it was only 13 to three, but you only scored three points when the two previous games, Brock Purdy threw five touchdowns in each game. Then you come up against this defense, and they were dominant.” Gee backed up the Seahawks’ dominance on defense by revealing a stat where the 49ers only had four games with fewer than 7 points under their Head Coach, Kyle Shanahan. The Seahawks were responsible for two of those four games, with both instances occurring in January 2026. “One of the main reasons why Mike McDonald was hired was because they said Kyle Shanahan is one of the best offensive minds. They said Rams coach Sean McVay is one of the best offensive minds. And so John Schneider brings in Mike McDonald, one of the best defensive minds,” Gee said.Harger: One WA rep. defied party line over the SHOWER Act, and why that’s a good thing It's the"Saving Homeowners from Overregulation with Exceptional Rinsing Act" — also known as the SHOWER Act.
