The New York Red Bulls have completed the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Felipe Carballo , a source confirmed with amNewYork on Wednesday shortly before Major League Soccer’s transfer deadline. He will inhabit a designated player slot within the roster.The 27-year-old was with Gremio of Brazil’s Serie A where he made 54 appearances since the start of the 2023 season after seven years with Uruguayan giants, Nacional, where he won four league titles.

His steady presence in the midfield earned him a call-up to the Brazilian national team last year where he has since madeappearances for La Celeste, though he was left out of the squad for this summer’s Copa America in the United States. “I am looking forward to begin working with Felipe on the pitch.
