FedEx Ground FCS National Offensive Player of the WeekA true freshman, Howell rushed for 283 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries, leading South Carolina State to a 27-24 victory over Howard. He scored three touchdowns, including two long runs of 48 and 85 yards, respectively, and achieved ten first downs. In his last three games, Howell has rushed for 528 yards and seven TDs, averaging 10.8 yards per carry.
West Division showdown. He turned a strip sack into a 27-yard fumble return for a touchdown and scored on an 88-yard pick-six.
