But as the shadow cabinet , which is due to meet again on Monday, grapples with the issue, there remains a separate view among some that the party should stand on principle and not reward a broken promise .
“It’s about trying to thread the needle of not being against tax breaks for low-income earners, but standing by our principles on bracket creep and significant tax reform,” said a senior source of the dilemma.
