Just hours after the Queensland premier described a fake video of him dancing as a 'turning point' for democracy, a video surfaced of his federal colleagues using the same tactics.

Labor used generative artificial intelligence to create a clip mocking Peter Dutton 's nuclear power plan.

With Queensland approaching an election, the LNP opposition posted an AI-made video on social media platform TikTok of Premier Steven Miles dancing, attacking his credibility on the cost of living. Mr Miles criticised that identical label on the LNP's post, arguing "very tiny fine print" that most people would scroll past."But we've been trained to believe what we see in video, and for a political party now to be willing to use AI to make deepfake attack videos, it's a very dangerous turning point.

Greens senator David Shoebridge said the video showed how dangerous AI could be in an election campaign. But it's likely that any laws would need to have exceptions for "things like parody" such as the videos of Mr Miles and Mr Dutton's dancing video. While all eyes are on Washington, Beijing is quietly heading into economic oblivion'I know Donald Trump's type': Harris draws on prosecutor past in preview of likely campaign strategy
