that showed Dallas police refused to say how a man who had called 911 for help ended up dead. In 2019,Timpa died after calling 911 on Aug. 10, 2016, from the parking lot of a Dallas store, saying he was afraid and needed help. He told dispatchers he had a history of schizophrenia and depression and was off his medication.
The video revealed that Timpa was handcuffed face down as he yelled and begged for help more than 30 times. Officers put their weight on his back, zip-tied his legs and pinned him to the ground for 14 minutes. After Timpa lost consciousness, officers laughed and joked about waking him up so he would not be late for school.investigation, a grand jury indicted three officers — Dillard, Mansell and Vasquez — on misdemeanor charges of deadly conduct.
