Actress Kiana Madeira used a five star binder to keep track of her two different characters in the Netflix horror trilogy
To stay on top of her multiple roles in the Fear Street trilogy, actress Kiana Madeira kept a five-star binder with her on set. Madeira played two different characters across the three movies, each set in a different time period. To further complicate matters, the films were shot back-to-back over just a few months. Madeira's binder contained all three movie scripts and she used it constantly, noting down her feelings, character development, and the overall tone of each scene.
She even decorated the binder to match the aesthetic of each film, using 90s magazine clippings for the first movie. Fear Street represents a new direction for Netflix, blending the binge-worthy nature of streaming with classic summer horror. Based on the popular young adult book series by R.L. Stine, the movies tell a complex story about a haunted town spanning generations, starting in the 90s, moving to the 70s, and finally, 1666. To create a sense of event, Netflix released a new film each week for three consecutive weeks in July. Leigh Janiak directed all three movies, being approached about the project in 2017. Initially, the plan was to film all three movies at once and release them theatrically over a year. Janiak was brought in to help refine the concept
