Timothy Klein, 31, a six-year FDNY veteran was killed battling a fire at a home in Canarsie when part of the building collapsed, according to officials.

"It gives us great pain and sorrow to announce that New York City has lost one of its bravest," Adams said. Three other firefighters were trapped inside the building, but were able to make it out and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.One civilian was treated at the scene but refused transportation to the hospital.
