The recalled Broccoli that was sold at Walmart locations in 20 states has been elevated to the highest level status by the FDA, meaning risk of 'death.' certain 12-ounce bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets sold at Walmart locations across the United States on December 31. On Friday, the recall was raised to Class 1, according to the FDA.
Class 1 is “a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death,” according to the FDA. The affected broccoli has a best-by-date of December 10 and is no longer on the shelves. Some customers, however, may still have the product in their freezers. The UPC code on the affected 'washed and ready-to-eat' bags is '6 81131 32884 5.' The lot code is 'BFFG327A6.' Those who purchased the affected product or those with concerns can call Braga Fresh at 877-456-7445 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time Monday through Friday.
