Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr said Thursday the body is investigating a San Francisco radio station over whether it acted out of the public interest when broadcasting information about an operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement .
Burkhart also cited a report by an organization assisting immigrants in Santa Clara County, where San Jose is located, that ICE agents were in unmarked vehicles like a black Dodge Durango, a gray Nissan Maxima and a white Nissan truck, according to the audio segment. “We have sent a letter of inquiry – a formal investigation into that matter, and they have just a matter of days left to respond to that inquiry and explain how this could possibly be consistent with their public interest obligations,” Carr said during an appearance on Fox News.
