Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance on SNL and senior Republican commissioner of the FCC claimed her appearance violated the Equal Time Tule.

The creator of SNL, Lorne Michaels, previously said in an interview that he would not be reaching out to either presidential candidate because "you can’t bring the actual people who are running on because of election laws and the equal time provisions,” he toldHarris made her appearance on SNL during the cold open, playing herself opposite of her impersonator, Maya Rudolph.
