FBM KLCI pares loss, still finish in the red

At 5pm, the 30-stock index was down 1.3 points to 1,455.50.

Maybank added one sen to RM8.75, pushing the index higher by 0.1741 points. The bank reported a higher net profit of RM8.23bil in 2022 against RM8.1bil in 2021. Revenue in 2022 rose to RM50.91bil from RM45.96bil in the previous year.

Public Bank closed up two sen, nudging the index higher by 0.5608. Public bank’s full-year net profit stood at RM6.12bil, which was improved from RM5.66bil in the previous year. Revenue in 2022 was RM21.43bil, compared with RM19.62bil in 2021. RHB jumped 13 sen to RM5.61, pushing the index 0.7976 points higher. It posted a net profit of RM2.71bil in 2022, up from RM2.62bil in the previous year. Its revenue for 2022 was RM13.28bil, up from RM11.75bil.
