SAN ANTONIO- We’re getting more insight into the victims of sex trafficking . Young women are often seen as the only victims; however, Ransomed Life wants to raise awareness that young men can also be targets.
In fact, the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force says 50% of cases involve boys. “Young people don’t get taken or abducted they go willingly,” says Ransomed Life Prevention Education Manager Brook Bobo.“So predators hang out where young people are and because young people are online, predators are hanging out online,” says Bobo. Here are some tips for parents: Have conversations about safety, be the trusted adult kids can go to, and notice when your child starts to isolate.
