The Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) held a press conference to provide an update on their ongoing investigation into Samuel Ramirez Jr. , the individual accused of perpetrating the murders of two women at their workplace in Federal Way , Washington, back in 2023. This update comes nearly three years after the tragic event that claimed the lives of Katie Duhnke and Jessyca Hohn, both employees of the Stars Bar & Grill. Ramirez Jr.

, now 34 years old, has been elevated to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, underscoring the seriousness of the charges against him and the agency's determination to bring him to justice. The FBI is offering a substantial reward, up to $1 million, for information that directly leads to his apprehension. This reward serves as a testament to the commitment of law enforcement to solving this case and providing closure to the victims' families and the community. The investigation continues to be a high priority for the FBI and local authorities, reflecting the importance of bringing Ramirez Jr. to justice.\The incident at Stars Bar & Grill occurred on May 21, 2023. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot at approximately 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered three victims. Duhnke and Hohn were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third individual sustained injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed that an argument had erupted between Ramirez Jr. and the victims regarding his behavior at the bar. The disagreement quickly escalated, culminating in Ramirez Jr. allegedly pulling out a firearm and opening fire. Witnesses reported a heated exchange before the shots were fired. The FWPD Chief Andy Hwang stated during the press conference that one victim was shot in the head instantly, while the second victim was shot multiple times and then shot in the head. The impact of the event was felt deeply by those who knew the victims, with friends and family expressing profound grief and a sense of being robbed of their loved ones. Jessica Blackshear, a close acquaintance of the victims, conveyed the immense loss, stating that the women possessed an exceptional warmth and zest for life. A bartender at the establishment at the time of the event stated that the suspect is the only one who can answer why he pulled out a gun and killed them like he did.\Following the murders, Ramirez Jr. reportedly fled the scene, initially heading to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was subsequently driven across the border into Tijuana, Mexico, by his parents on May 23, 2023. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Ramirez Jr. with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and attempted murder. A federal arrest warrant was issued on November 14, 2025, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. The FBI’s efforts to locate and apprehend Ramirez Jr. extend beyond U.S. borders, emphasizing the global scope of the search. The fugitive is described as a White Hispanic male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He has distinctive tattoos, including a lion's face on his right wrist and forearm. Ramirez Jr. has known connections to several locations, including Lake Havasu City, Arizona; Compton, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and the Mexican states of Jalisco and Sinaloa. The FBI encourages anyone with information regarding Ramirez Jr.’s whereabouts to contact them at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or to contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate if outside of the U.S. The substantial reward offered by the FBI demonstrates the agency’s commitment to bringing Ramirez Jr. to justice and providing closure to the victims’ families and the wider community
