The race went off 14 minutes late after police had to remove protesters from the Animal Rising group from the racecourse

Several early fallers had thinned out the field as the rest set out on the final circuit and it was the outsider Mister Coffey who turned for home with a clear lead. But Corach Rambler, usually held up for a late run, was this time cruising behind the leaders and when Fox pressed the button going to the 30th and final fence, it was all over bar the shouting.
“My only concern was that he would be in front to too long,” said Fox. “He jumped off and travelled so well, I just let him bowl along. He’s an electric jumper and such a clever horse.”
